2009 Volunteer Service Award Honors Arrow Bicycle Co-Owners

Chris Militello and Chris Davidson, co-owners of Arrow Bicycle, received the 2009 Volunteer Service Award at a City of Hyattsville reception last week.

Mr. Militello and Mr. Davidson opened Arrow Bicycle on Baltimore Avenue a little more than a year ago. They've been actively engaged in the community ever since, coordinating a kids' Bike Rodeo for National Night Out Against Crime, offering safety clinics and bike helmet give-aways during a Family Fun Night and bringing the first Hyattsville Cyclocross event to Magruder Park this past fall.

In addition to bragging rights, the award comes with an original piece of artwork commissioned especially for the occassion. The 2009 piece is sculpted metal, created by Adam Eig. Mr. Eig's work has been seen locally in the ArtDC Gallery at the Lustine Center on Baltimore Avenue.
